About me
Hi,
I am Abi, owner and maker of all Sunshine and Star wears. I have been making clothing for children since 2017, shortly after giving birth to my youngest Olivia.
I have always been interested in sewing, which is strange considering I used to hate the fact my mum made all my clothes as a child. To be fair they were nothing like the handmade clothing you find these days! It wasnt until I was pregnant with Olivia that I decided to give it a go. I am completely self taught, there are still things I find difficult so I only offer what I know I can do without any issues, quality is of upmost importance way over a sale.
Over the 6 years i,ve attempted to take the business in different directions, some have worked some not so much, but through out it all the passion for quality sustainable fashion has not changed.
Theres no denying that handmade clothing can be more expensive then what you can get off the shelf at the shops, but what you get for your money are clothes that not only stand the test of time, but can be made to fit your child when they dont quite fit into the 'normal' brackets. Maybe you have a son who loves pink unicorns or a girl who loves superheros, shops can be very gender specific even in these times of change (although you tend to see more flexibility in what girls 'can' wear versus the boys sections. There are no 'gender' fabrics just fabrics, you have what you want how you want it.
I am happy to discuss any options, I love creating unique pieces simply by combining fabrics.
If you would like to see previous work please check me out on either facebook or instagram.
Thanks for supporting my dreams.
